THE TOWER: uranus in gemini in american history
i'm safe & housed! FORKED TONGUES was so fun! i have a new course!
hey friends.
i’m writing to you from my new, semi-permanent accommodations in the protective shadow of mother tahoma on lands nourished by the white river. i’m grateful to be back in cascadia, home in so many ways.
i want to thank all of you who donated to the gofundme campaign to help me land in this place. your support allowed me to make the trip back home and to land softly into this place. as the birds caught skywoman falling to the earth, you all have caught me, and i am full of gratitude.
i have just wrapped up my three-week engagement teaching a summer intensive of FORKED TONGUES: an astrohistory of the united states from time immemorial to the current apocalypse. teaching this course has reignited my passion for astrological history, and for sharing it with you all, and i am beyond grateful.
one participant said as we were wrapping up, “i’ve loved this class so much. you do the best job both covering the broad history strokes and diving deep into interesting details, and connecting all of it to the astrology and repeating patterns within both. truly amazing work.”
i am truly grateful for all participants, and for the opportunity to teach this class again before i head back to work next week. i’ll glad to share that i’ll be teaching history at a local tribal school. i am humbled by this opportunity and for the trust placed in me by the local tribal people. i hope to do well in service of their children.
the experience of teaching FORKED TONGUES again has brought me face-to-face with the reality of our transit of uranus in gemini, a signature so often correlated with major wars in american history, including the revolution, civil war, and world war two.
but in my research, i found resonances back much farther, going even to 1524 when the florentine captain verrazanno explored the eastern seaboard of north america, sending reports back to the king of france.
a uranus cycle later, both france and england established their first permanent colonies in north america, in the gulf of st. lawerence and chesapeake bay. establishment of the english colony eventually leads to war with local native tribes, the powhatans.
the next time uranus entered gemini brought a war between the two empires, globally and in their north american colonies. in north america, native allies were key partners on both sides, each fighting with their friends and also for their tribes’ interests.
as i’ve wrapped up my time in FORKED TONGUES, i find myself drawn to share these stories with you, together and in context.
therefore, i offer to you a new course: THE TOWER: uranus in gemini in american history.
we’ll meet six times from september 27 to november 1, for each of these six uranus in gemini periods:
1609-1614: establishment of english & french colonies
1690-1698: king william’s war
1774-1782: american revolution
1858-1866: american civil war
1941-1949: world war two & the cold war
2025-2033: the present
i’m particularly excited for the final meeting on november 1, where we’ll explore the potential hot spots and flash points of our current transit. in this meeting, we’ll pull up every live participant’s chart and read how the transit might impact us, with a particular focus on mitigating the more difficult moments and planning for safety and security in an uncertain time.
a uranus transit feels like clouds flying low over the ground, rubbing and rubbing and rubbing against the hard surface of the earth. alert, your hair starts to stand up, first on your arms and the back of your neck and then, even the hairs on your head. you feel the buzz all around you, your heart beats faster, and then, there—! lightning!
did you get hit?
at the tower of babel, as all human beings worked together to build something tall enough to ascend to the heavens above, did they feel the charge? did they know god was building up to cast them down?
did they know the creator would send his thunderbolt to pierce the very core of their solidarity, to divide them into mutually unintelligible phonemes and morphemes and grammars?
do you feel the charge building? the divisions, the strife, the ceaseless urge to push, to build, to complete the task at hand before it’s too late?
when will the lightning strike?
join THE TOWER to find out.
returning clients and students are encouraged to use their discount code if desired. two scholarships are available, submit applications here.
from another FORKED TONGUES student: “i feel so grateful to have found your work, a true lantern to guide the path onwards.”
may we all find our lighthouses in the storm.
talk soon,
alex
congrats! i'm so glad you're offering this - seems like all uranus in gemini conversations stop at the revolutionary war; illuminating this blind spot is such a perfect neptune-saturn offering. thank you for sharing.
